How Invisalign Treatment Works at Our Addison Office
Your Consult
Dr. De Vincenzo or Dr. Saremi will check your teeth and bite and tell you if Invisalign is a good fit. If braces would work better, they’ll tell you that too and refer you to an orthodontist.
Your Aligners
We take records of your teeth and send them to Invisalign’s lab, which makes your custom trays. When your trays arrive, we’ll call you in to fit your first set and show you how to put them in, take them out, and keep them clean.
Check-In Visits
During treatment, you’ll come back for short visits so we can see how your teeth are moving and give you your next trays. If you need to move one of these visits, keep wearing your current trays until we see you.
After Treatment
Once your teeth are where they should be, we’ll go over retainer options to keep them there.
Who Clear Aligners Work Best For
Invisalign is made for teeth that are crowded, gapped, slightly rotated, or not meeting the way they should when you bite. It’s a common choice for adults and teens who want straighter teeth without brackets showing.
Some cases are better treated with braces. We don’t place braces in our office. If braces are the right call for you or your child, we’ll refer you to an orthodontist. You can keep coming to us for cleanings and checkups while you’re in braces, and we see kids too through our children’s dentistry.
If you’d also like to change the shade or shape of your teeth, ask about teeth whitening and porcelain veneers at your consult.

It depends on your case. At your consult, your dentist will tell you what to expect for your teeth.
Am I a candidate for Invisalign?
If your teeth are crowded, gapped, or slightly rotated, or your bite is off, Invisalign may work for you. A consult is the way to know for sure. If braces would work better, we’ll tell you.
Is Invisalign better than braces?
Neither one is better for everyone. Invisalign is clear and comes out for eating and brushing. Braces handle some cases better. We’ll tell you which fits your teeth, and if it’s braces, we’ll refer you to an orthodontist.
Do you offer traditional braces?
No, we offer Invisalign here. If braces are the better choice, we’ll refer you to an orthodontist. You can keep your cleanings with us while you’re in braces.
Does dental insurance cover Invisalign?

Can I get an Invisalign consultation during my cleaning?
Yes. When you call to book your cleaning, tell us you’d like to talk about Invisalign, and we’ll add a consult to that visit.
How many hours a day do I wear my aligners?
About 22 hours a day. Take them out to eat and to brush, then put them right back in.
Do I need a retainer after Invisalign?
Yes. Teeth can shift back after treatment, and a retainer holds them in place. We’ll go over retainer options with you as you finish.
Can teenagers get Invisalign?
Yes, if Invisalign fits their case. Aligners only move teeth while they’re being worn, so they work best for teens who will keep them in.
